It’s a soluble powder which when dissolved in water wil result in coffee. The strength of the coffee can be controlled by the amount of instant coffee powder used.
World over Instant coffee is over 20Billion USD market in size which is equivalent to the GDP of small countries like Nepal, Cyprus etc.
In India, 1 Lakh + metric tons of coffee is consumed a year . Instant coffee has a market share of 57%. This skew is because in North India the consumption of Instant coffee is much higher when compared to south India. For every 2-3 cups of Instant coffee consumed 1 cup of normal ground beans coffee is consumed in the North India. In the south it’s more of a 1:1 ratio.

Why do we want to make Instant Coffee
When we have access to coffee as ground beans why do we want to make instant coffee at all. It has a set of advantages most of which are commercial.
