Caffeine might have no significant effect on memory or recall instantaneously but according to a new research done in john Hopkins University it says for sure that caffeine improved memory consolidation.
What did the researcher do – He showed participants images and then ingested caffeine – eliminating the concentration improving cognitive effects of caffeine while seeing the images
24 hours after this caffeine ingestion the participants were tested with same, similar and unrelated images
If a person identifies the same image – his memory is good
If he can identify a similar image also – he has good memory consolidation
If he can’t differentiate between an unrelated and similar image – he has a bad memory
This experiment shows the caffeine betters memory consolidation. The participant remembers the images as wells as is able to correlate and identify similar images which shows assimilation of learnings and strengthening of images
More reasons to drink coffee.
Cheers!!!
